New call for research proposals 2017: European Research Area Network on Cardiovascular Diseases

ERA-NET on Cardiovascular Diseases
Joint Transnational Call for Proposals 2017 (JTC 2017):

“Mechanisms of early atherosclerosis and/or plaque instability in Coronary Artery Disease”

CVD research is not only a crucial area in health research overall, but could become an outstanding example of research driven innovation across Europe. An effective coordination of research at national and EU level, increased cross-disciplinary interaction and research advancements are urgently needed. By gathering their forces and funding capacities so far 18 countries aim at responding to this demand by setting up a new ERA‐Net Cofund action (European Research Area Network co-funded by the European Commission, EC) dedicated to cardiovascular diseases (ERA-CVD) . ERA-CVD officially started in October 2015.

Under the umbrella of ERA-CVD (ERA-Net for research programmes on Cardiovascular Diseases), the 17 funding organisations mentioned in the call text have agreed to fund the second ERA-CVD joint transnational call (JTC 2017) for collaborative research projects on: “Mechanisms of early atherosclerosis and/or plaque instability in Coronary Artery Disease.” The participating ERA-CVD funding organisations particularly wish to promote innovative interdisciplinary collaboration and to encourage translational research proposals.

Submission deadline for pre-proposals: 6 March 2017 at 16:00 (CET)
